Holiday Digital e-Card Illustration

This is one of the holiday e-Card digital illustration done for the same client.

It's a fun process making the image from sketch to a complete digital e-Card. 

The coloring part was done in Adobe illustrator program. 

Originally I was thinking of making this painting with traditional media or

paint this in photoshop or painter program, but found that it's much cleaner and simpler just to do vector painting in illustrator. Plus I can edit & change the color, shape of the elements much easier as per client's request. 

Commissioned e-Card Paintings

These are some of the recent vector holiday e-Card design for a client.

Normally I will give them a few sketches/drafts to choose from. After the designs are confirmed, I will start to color them using illustrator program. I still prefer using the traditional media; but since the client might change the colors or design elements a few times before finalizing the artworks, it's easier to use digital coloring method for this process since the deadline is pretty tight... XD

Just want to share how it's done. Vector art painting is fun; but it requires long hours of mouse clicking and line dragging and my wrist pain has gotten worst so I still prefer traditional hand paint to ease up my arm...  (getting old now...)

Love for Landscapes

Despite how much I love painting birds; I still love landscape paintings. 

I think when I paint landscapes, I only see color and shape... totally love impressionism style =)
